Kai Smith, MBA, Exec. MPA, CPHR Chairman, President & CEO: Kai Smith Brands Owner, Executive Producer & Host: The Kai Smith Show Founder & Executive Director: The Gang Diversion, Reentry And Absent Fathers Intervention Centers Formerly: Inmate #88-B-2565 and #93-A-2463 Born and bred during the three most ominous decade eras of New York City that many rappers and actors today portray and sing about; where many others have only silently witnessed or was told the unbelievable stories of; Kai personally ‘lived’ the nefarious Harlem streets of the 70’s, 80’s, and 90’s. This living directly resulted in Kai spending 16 consecutive years in juvenile institutions and adult prisons in 3 different States. Released from prison in 2002 labeled a ‘Career Criminal’ with six (6) felonies and written off by society as absolutely helpless; Kai vowed to not only change his own life, but the lives of others caught in the cycle like he was. Determined to change, Kai not only founded GRAAFICS, he secured his BA and MBA from Metropolitan College of New York, an Executive MPA from Rutgers University, a PHR from the Society for Human Resource Management and he is awaiting a response from Princeton’s Ph.D program.

Welcome To GRAAFICS

At alarming growth rates, an unprecedented amount of today’s male youth are in some way negatively affiliated with the criminal justice system, e.g.: being currently incarcerated, on probation, parole, in a street gang or currently exhibit some form of ‘At-Risk’ behavior that may potentially lead them to an initial, or more severe criminal actions. When investigated, it was discovered that the overwhelming majority are absent fathers. The Gang Diversion, Reentry, And Absent Fathers, Intervention, Centers (GRAAFICS) attempts to address its participant’s barriers by providing ‘real-time’ alternatives when GRAAFICS members are at the most vulnerable stages of their lives. The program maintains a core curriculum that employs both cognitive and psycho-social educational group work techniques. Although services will be provided to participants in cohorts, these same strategies may however be used during individual sessions. Both, the program and its curriculum were designed to target a specific population- the GRAAFICS population. GRAAFICS members are made up of those persons that are either: #1. Currently in a street gang looking for a safe way out, or #2. Has recently reentered society from jail or prison, or #3. Is currently considered an absent father seeking a healthy and productive relationship with his child or children.
