Welcome To GRAAFICS

At alarming growth rates, an unprecedented amount of today’s male youth are in some way negatively affiliated with the criminal justice system, e.g.: being currently incarcerated, on probation, parole, in a street gang or currently exhibit some form of ‘At-Risk’ behavior that may potentially lead them to an initial, or more severe criminal actions. When investigated, it was discovered that the overwhelming majority are absent fathers. The Gang Diversion, Reentry, And Absent Fathers, Intervention, Centers (GRAAFICS) attempts to address its participant’s barriers by providing ‘real-time’ alternatives when GRAAFICS members are at the most vulnerable stages of their lives. The program maintains a core curriculum that employs both cognitive and psycho-social educational group work techniques. Although services will be provided to participants in cohorts, these same strategies may however be used during individual sessions. Both, the program and its curriculum were designed to target a specific population- the GRAAFICS population. GRAAFICS members are made up of those persons that are either: #1. Currently in a street gang looking for a safe way out, or #2. Has recently reentered society from jail or prison, or #3. Is currently considered an absent father seeking a healthy and productive relationship with his child or children.
